BROS Product-two Impression


Here, I write impression when I felt at riding BROS.

Fast impression
W....why this frame and proarm?? General public Japanese user's are feeling , "You are the hobby which changed". But, if you worry about people voice, you can't become BROS's owner. Or rather you should fall in love BROS's style.

Handling
Dry weight is 164kg (74.3&). It is standard weight in the 400cc class. Separate Handle position is a little lower than bar handle. But body is easy to support and easy to walk. But when locks the handle, it will become narrow between fuel tank and handle.

Foot fitting
My case in (height is 173cm), the foot can reache to ground easily. Seat hight is general

Starting engine performance
Very good. BROS don't need chalk. If I ride BROS everyday, engine can start at once to try. And if I don't ride long time, BROS starting is easier than Kawasaki's motorcycle.


Engine
Revolution of low range(~2,500rpm)
Much awkword feeling, I can't declare smooth like InlineFour. There are many awkwardly impression and difficult to say with smoothness like 4 cylinders. When go and stop in the traffic jam. If a clutch isn't used together, accel opening and closing is very hard. There are not few vibrations typical of the V-Twin, when impression is being expected, it is betrayed, too. You can feel a pulse from a few vibrations and the exhaust.

Utility revolution range is possible with 1 - 3 gear from 2,000rpm, it can be used with 4 - 5 gear from 2,500rpm. However, when accelerator operation is done in rough, engine stalls when it is the worst. Delicate is very necessary for the accelerator work.

Revolution of middle range(~5,000rpm)
This revolution range is included 2,500~3,800rpm that it is used at running normal road (town, village....etc). It is in common use range of this engine. Acceleraror is quick open from all closing, it can accelerate in its own way with good reaction.

But, feeling isn't The second curve like. I can always feel a pulse from the exhaust sound, I don't occur in the desire that it isn't bored even at the time of the long-distance cruise and a speed is increased beyond the necessity, either. When a 4,000~5,000rpm range is used, a place among the mountains and so on may be all right.

Revolution of high range(~9500rpm)
This range is used little apart from winding road. Well.... There is a power in its own way, but revolution's rise is slowly. Fuel expense is so bad.

BROS's 5 speed mission ratio is wide. Because rear tire is hopped road by engine brake if I changed gear from high to low when before at front of corner. I can't endure. Give me back torque limiter, HONDA!!

Engine's feeling
As revolution's rise is slowly at the all range, you should leave no doubt about this engine is like it. Engine brake is crazily intensity. There is no vibration, because of phase crank. Maybe, you will be able to feel Pulse from air intake sound and exhaust sound.

Gear ratio
Gear ratio's is low. For example, there is no problem in the town and winding where are low speed range pase. But when run at the likes highway, high pase running is weak point. There is enough power to run. But fuel expense is bad. I wish overdrive 6th gea.

Fuel expenses
When engine is in good condition, fuel expenses is average 25km/L. When engine is in bad condision, it is falling average 20km/L. Fuel tank's capacity is 12L. A crusing capacity is about 220km when I don't use reserve possion . And if you use all capacity, it is about 290km.(1L=24km).

Around the Body
Frame
BROS's frame is aluminum twin-tube. Its section is three layer like other HONDA's racer replica. There is no discontent of its performance. Frame layout is important factor of someone likes BROS or doesn't like.

Shock unit
Rear normal shock is red spring, HONDA's motorcycles adopts its color well. Setting system is only priroad. It is indicated by motorcycle magazines for weak point. But, I don't understand this weak point, because I have never experienced normal shock.
There is no setting system at front shock.

Brake
Front brake system is 320mm single rotor disc and Nissin 4pot carrieper. Brake hose was changed stainless hose, so feeling is good. There is no discontent with stopping power. Or rather single disc is advantage for the cost. Rear is Nissin 1pot and feeling is normal. This disc's heat radiating is poor. But it has never included air in the hose.

Seat
BROS's seat is firm and thickness in it own way. Because I can ride long way. But tandem seat is smaller than today naked motorcycle's seat. It seems that tandemrider can bear riding about 250km. (Experiment completion)

Performance of loading package
You can put tools and papers only into under the seat. There are folding hook the back of the seat. It is fixed by seat base, seat will be twisted by it if you pile up heavy package.


Switch and Erectric parts
Meter,Switch
There is in common between BROS and HONDA naked (VT250SPADA,CB-1 of contemporary) of design. Water temp mater is built in. But fuel meter isn't built in. Even the switch is the same as those. Operating performance is normal. Tachometer's diameter is a little smaller than speed meter.

lights
Headlight is bright because I changed normal bulb for high watterge bulb. Winker stay is made of rubber, so there is flexible. Taillight is dual bulbs built in.

Street
BROS is convenient to pass the for car and car, because its body is narrow. Back mirror changed more better to pass. You can lane change and crossing turn very quickly. If you become serious when signal grand prix. You can do evenry match with liter motorcycle?? Brake disk is single, braking performance is enough in the street.

Because I am whenever the awkward impression in the low speed range, opens and closes an accelerator I make busy half clutch. There is a power at this range. But if you have overconfidence and Inattention, engine will stop suddenly.(^^;
Winding

BROS is good at running winding road. But I think that BROS doesn't agree with winding road with continued high average corner, and I don't like it. BROS shows character at narrow and winding road that low and middle average continuous corner. It is not suitable that there is a straight between two corners. Why? Answer is easy. Lacking of absolute power........

Yes, straight. BROS is invincible if only there isn't straight. It can do nimble cornering quickly with flat powerband from 3,000rpm.

In Japan, that like winding are seen in perfectual road and C class national highway also. their are always 1~2 lane and center lineless, rapid stream and mountain stream, old pass, etc.

There are two attention points. Generally, the narrow winding road's surface in Japan mountain is bad conditions. The surface's sinking, crack, sand, spring water, horse droppings...... You should catch sight of their things and keep margin. And, road width is 1~1.5 line. Of course, make use the curve mirror, discover oncoming vehicle early, keep left riding.
Touring

I always use route at long touring. But I don't use toll road and turnpike. Because I have no money. But there is not suffering by such riding. BROS has two version (low position separate handle and semi up separate hanle) in Japane, and my BROS is low position version. This version can run about 600km one day.

Engine's character is suitable for long touring. But I think that fuel expenses is not all that good. Usually, fuel expenses is about 20~26km. But I wish it will become about 28km.
Highway (turnpike)

Everyday, I don't use highway. Because I can't enjoy highway. BROS isn't felt acceleration feeling at high range revolution. I feel "Mmm.....Only it is running only?". When it is Running with 90km, gear position is fifth and engine revolution is about 4,500rpm. But this range is not exciting, so I do running quiet. Over the revolution range, fuel expenses gets worse.

And, I don't feel wind pressure depressing. Don't you resist useless. For example, equip meter visor.
